One Shot

Overview

The film features unprecedented, deeply intimate interviews with elite snipers from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) serving in the reserve. Breaking their silence for the first time, these young men look directly into the camera to recount the reality of their missions in the Occupied Territories. They detail the extreme focus required to pull the trigger, the cold mathematics of "one shot, one kill," and the mechanical detachment needed to view human targets through a telescopic lens. Rather than focusing on political battle lines, the documentary exposes the profound psychological aftermath, tracking how these soldiers grapple with moral dilemmas, hidden guilt, and the trauma of taking lives from a distance once they return to normal civilian life.
