Overview

Part historical narrative, part experimental documentary, this film brings to life the year-long correspondence between the filmmaker's grandparents. Margot, a young Jewish woman working in London, had escaped Nazi Germany while David, a Polish doctor working for the British army, was one of the only surviving members of his family. Constructed through photographs, letters, telegrams and archival footage from the era, their story is one of love across distance and the search for a partner during troubled times.
