Overview
During the January 2026 protests in Iran, more than 36,500 people were killed by the Islamic Republic. Mashhad and Isfahan were among the cities where the most killings occurred during the January 8 and 9 protests. This documentary contains heartbreaking and shocking images and accounts of the use of deadly force by the Islamic Republic's security forces, including the Revolutionary Guard Corps, Basij forces, and foreign mercenaries (Afghan, Iraqi, Lebanese, and Palestinian) in the three cities of Mashhad, Najafabad, and Isfahan, which is being shown for the first time. The documentary is narrated by Farnoosh Faraji based on interviews with eyewitnesses and information received from Iran International's audience. These accounts document the hidden dimensions, the death toll, and the details of the violence committed by government agents (including the use of firearms and military equipment against civilians) in these areas.
