Colourful Guizhou Wind

Overview

A filmed recording of the large-scale ethnic song-and-dance poem (大型民族歌舞诗) staged in Guizhou province, China. Drawing on the music, costume and dance of Guizhou's ethnic minority peoples - Miao, Dong, Buyi and others - the production premiered in Guiyang on 22 January 2006 and became one of the province's signature cultural works. Performed jointly by the Guizhou Province Song and Dance Troupe, the Guizhou Province Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe and the Guizhou Province Huadeng Opera Troupe.
