"...The other chamber, next to the one of the stars, was dedicated to lightning, thunder, and thunderbolt: These three things were named and understood under the name Illapa, and with the verb they attached to it they distinguished the meanings of the name, so that when they said 'you saw the Illapa,' they understood it to mean lightning; if they said 'you heard the Illapa,' they understood it to mean thunder; and when they said 'the Illapa fell in such a place or caused such damage,' they understood it to mean thunderbolt..."
