Overview

Peter Parker is finally on top of the world: New York loves Spider-Man, and he is ready to propose to Mary Jane. Then everything turns. An alien symbiote latches onto his suit and brings out the worst in him: arrogance, anger, revenge. Meanwhile, Flint Marko escapes from prison and becomes the Sandman, Harry Osborn takes up his father's armor to avenge his death, and rival photographer Eddie Brock waits for any chance to bring Peter down. When Peter finally tears the symbiote off, it finds a new host and Venom is born. Alternate cut released in 2017 by the film's original editor Bob Murawski, with a reworked structure, scenes removed, unused footage added, and more of Christopher Young's score.
