Drawing Basics with Thomas Kinkade

Overview

This is an activity-based beginning art course that budding artists will love. This 5-unit elective covers key elements of art, principles of design, and facts about art history. Featuring the video-based instruction of renowned artist Thomas Kinkade, Drawing Basics will guide students, step by step, to illustrate the world around them. From simple lines to final details, students will learn how to draw things as they appear. Drawing Basics is aligned to national art standards. New features, such as expanded teacher resources, evaluation rubrics, and an 18-week schedule make this course highly adaptable for use in both school and homeschool settings. Although primarily intended for students in grades 3 through 5, this course can also be adapted for use by students up to grade 8.
