Overview

The dream machine traps the characters in a world of decay and disintegration, of discarded objects and waste. They face the mortality of the material that nails them to the past. Not able to escape their virtual world, only time and entropy will release them from their plastic-bound image, beyond light and moving shadows, to become mere plastic trash. The light-sensitive silver crystals that retain the image on the filmstrip decompose. Cinema’s out-of-fashion system, made of transparent plastic and gelatin emulsion, tells the imagination of a visual culture that no longer circulates in the economic market. Leftovers of a dream-like state easily forgotten or hard to remember.
