Overview

Farschid Ali Zahedi sheds light on the harsh reality facing the Iranian women’s national soccer team. At enormous personal risk to everyone involved and by circumventing censorship in Iran, the film tells a story that highlights the inequalities and challenges faced by these courageous women. Despite the growing global enthusiasm for women’s soccer, the sport remains a marginal phenomenon in Iran. The players face unimaginable hurdles on a daily basis: a lack of resources, a lack of public support, and complete exclusion from the public eye.
