Overview

For years the Hungarian government has tried to gain control over the country's higher education system. The continuous attacks on universities and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences have influenced the academic freedom and institutional autonomy in the country. The research institutes, which previously were under the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, have been moved to a newly-formed state research network. Many view this as nationalization of science and fear it will put an end to academic freedom in Hungary. The film follows the faith of researchers and students who are forced to take life-changing decisions about their future.
