An Alarippu

Overview

The Alarippu, usually the first piece learnt in the Bharatanatyam repertoire, roughly translates into ‘’The blooming of a flower’’. This short film explores the director’s queer experiences across Bangalore, based on an incident that he encountered in 2015, when he was 17 years old and was beginning to make sense of the fact that he was attracted to men.
