Overview
The programme begins with a day visit to Cardiff Central Station to view the everyday train types and traffic to be seen. A wide variety of DMU types are featured including endangered class 142s. Our second section covers the busy freight and passenger line between Ely and March and on towards Peterborough. The third section sees us visit the Gloucestershire-Warwickshire Railway for a ride behind 26043. We remain in Gloucestershire as we head to Standish Junction near Stroud as we view a number of recent special trains and unusual workings. LNER HSTs, Steam in the form of Duchess of Sutherland and freight trains are all witnessed.
