Overview

A documentary that follows Krzysztof and his wife Ida as they manage a tenement building at 83 Złota Street in Warsaw, built against a remnant of the former Ghetto wall. Inherited through Poland's controversial reprivatisation process, the building serves as a multicultural sanctuary for displaced individuals, including a 94-year-old accountant, a Syrian refugee, and an Afghan-Ukrainian couple. As Krzysztof struggles to protect his vulnerable tenants from legal and political threats jeopardizing ownership, the pressure triggers a profound personal crisis. Driven by his roots, Krzysztof directly confronts his own intersectional identity, openly navigating what it means to be Polish, Jewish, and gay in an increasingly intolerant and changing society. Overwhelmed by external hostility, internal identity struggles, and their tenants' personal crises, Krzysztof and Ida's marriage begins to fracture as they fight to sustain their fragile community.
