Faxen

Overview

The new-bulit prison in Gelsenkirchen has a special architecture: men and women sections vis-à-vis only divided from a sports field. A special communication form was created by the inmates the so called "faxen". Due to the contact to an inmate it could be filmed without the private communication. Some are "faxing" for years without knowing each other faces. Calm and endlessly slow conversations.
