#288
In a barren winterlandscape: giant coal-dredging-machine #288 appears and disappers again.

#29
#29 belongs to a series of video works and researches the relationship between landscape representation, perception, and the unconscious. The techniques applied to the footage are a mix of hacking of the MPEG information and faulty encoding settings. Crucial data is removed, forcing software to re-interpret the visual information.

#3
The first film Rekveld composed according to methods he still uses to structure films. Featuring images created by recording the movements of a tiny light source with extremely long exposure times, so it draws traces on the photographic emulsion. The light is part of a simple mechanical system that exhibits chaotic behaviour.
#3
A film by Ellen Gaine
#3 Normandy Lane
Army wife and Young Mother, Sarah Winston's life is inextricably altered when a series of visitors arrive on her doorstep.

#300Letters
Jero and Tom are the perfect couple everyone wants to be. Jero takes care of his aesthetics and his cryptocurrencies. Tom is alternative and loves poetry. On the day of their first anniversary, Tom abandons Jero and, as his only explanation, leaves a box with 300 letters. Jero, reading them, discovers a different Tom and the great love story they were living collapses under the title of "The Jero Project". But all pain has an end and the hope of a new love could be the cure for their suffering.

#31# (Unknown Call)
It is during a night in a post-reconstruction world that a masked call rings out. Cheikh Morad Djadja wanders through these non-places in search of an anonymous telecommunication space. This universe with its illusory and oppressive walls, makes us notice the existence of an abstract space-time in which a trans-identity tries to find a place. #31# (appel masqué) is a proposal halfway between documentary, fiction and installation, exploring the hidden meaning of a coded message, this one coming from a literary/musical genre, the raï.
#34# (appel masque)
The five-year-old girl Nadia lives in a slum in Casablanca, which is separated from the rest of the city by a surrounding wall. One day, Nadia notices unusual movement near the wall. City workers start painting the wall. What is suddenly interesting about the wall?

#37
Film #37 is part of an ongoing exploration of the propagation and diffraction of light through holes and grids.

#3777
A politician and businessman is brought before a heavenly court. An automatic "reverse" warning indicates an error and that he has been brought to trial prematurely.

#387
This is the story of a Greek physician who collects pendants and bracelets. This is the story of an Italian woman who has been fighting for 15 years to «make bodies talk.» This is the story of those who watch over the forgotten migrants.

#4 Mangifera
A book is buried under a mango tree in a backyard in Cape Verde, initiating a journey to reconstruct a fictional, geographic, emotional, and identitary cartography of loss, based on the five stages of grief.

#43.4
Short piece commissioned for the ‘Modern Times’ project by Stichting Cinema Zuid in collaboration with the One Minutes. Part of a long-running exploration of algorithms that are based on a combination of propagation and local interactions. Originally triggered by an encounter with simulations of how nerve impulses organise themselves into oscillations in tissues like heart muscle, the project has since expanded to include an interest in the more general emergence of patterns in time and space out of homogeneous starting conditions.
#43.4
Short piece commisioned for the ‘Modern Times’ project by Stichting Cinema Zuid in collaboration with the One Minutes.
#43.6
In his film #43, Joost Rekveld observes what happens to a system that is destabilised by ‘creative' pixels, drawing inspiration from the set of ideas in biology and mathematics that arose during the development of cybernetics in the 1950s.

#45
In a dystopian world where soldiers are reduced to numbers, #45 begins to question his march toward an uncertain fate and must choose between obedience and freedom.
#47
Images fall apart, data decay, glitches, algorithmic transcendence. The moon raises over mountaintops, melts with the woods. A path dissolves with the view. Colors rendered liquid. Data holes vanish in the distance. Memory, processing, nothing lasts forever. A hike through a natural reservoir; recorded, saved, consolidated. A landscape interpretation by means of MPEG algorithms. In #47, alternating fixed camera shots and pans display a landscape from the hiker’s point of view. Where the path leads to, remains unclear. #47 belongs to a video-work series, researching the relationship between landscape- representation, perception and the unconscious. The technics applied to the footage are a mix between some hacking of the MPEG-information and faulty encoding settings. During this process, crucial data is removed from the MPEG-stream and fed back to the computer to make it ‘work’, forcing software to re-interpret the visual information.

#5
Continuously modulating between animations with long exposures and snapshots enlarged across many film frames, #5 explores the relationship between image and time on the film strip. The images were made using very non-virtual, simple reflecting materials and can be regarded as action painting with light.

#50ForDaCity
Zach Randolph Documentary. This documentary film chronicles Grizzlies’ legend Z-Bo and his journey in Memphis, from the trade that brought him to the Bluff City, to every Z-bound, headband toss, MLGW bill, chokeslam, and more

#57
A categorical accumulation of abstract patterns. Lines, colours and sounds obey an impenetrable logic. A quiet film that dares to be resolutely experimental. Chaotic equations by the Chinese mathematician Wang Lin are tackled by an analogue computer, a small battery of surplus high-frequency oscillators and Joost Rekveld.
#6261
Documentary #6261 is a symbolic and demographic identity journey on the migration movements of citizens of different origins.
#66
66 tells the story of an assassin-for-hire, who is hired to kill a police informant, but instead steals the money and runs, igniting the spark that leads a criminal organization to go to war with itself.

#67
#67 is a tribute to Reminiscence and Telc, two video works that Steina and Woody Vasulka made in 1974.
