Need to Know is an American public television news program produced by WNET, and broadcast weekly on all Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) affiliate-stations in the United States. It aired from May 2010 until June 2013. PBS stated that the show was intended to fill the public-affairs and "hard"/investigative news void left by both the one-hour Bill Moyers Journal, and the cancelled, half-hour NOW on PBS. Both departing shows had been long-running, highly rated, and critically acclaimed for their journalistic quality, and focus on issues that deeply impacted regular Americans' lives, yet went largely ignored by commercial TV news outlets. "NTK" branded itself the "TV and Web newsmagazine [that] gives you what you need to know." PBS had described the show as “a multi-platform current affairs news magazine, uniting broadcast and web in an innovative approach to news-gathering and reporting."

New Year's Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen (originally Kathy Griffin) is an annual program broadcast on CNN. It originates live from Times Square in New York City. It covers the traditional ball drop live, but also reports on other New Year's Eve celebrations across the country and around the world. It is a competing program to similar shows such as New Year's Rockin' Eve and New Year's Eve with Carson Daly in the United States. Overseas, the program is simulcast on CNN International and available around the world.

New Zealand Today began on Jono And Ben as a parody of click-bait journalism and modern media culture. The segment went on to become its own 'show within a show' and clips have since racked up hundreds of thousands of views online. News 4 New York is the brand identifier of WNBC-TV in New York City. It began using this for its news broadcasts in 1971 to 1972, again on Labor Day, September 1, 1980, and again in March 2008. Prior to this, WNBC used the NewsCenter 4 brand for their newscasts. In September 1995, WNBC was rebranded to NewsChannel 4 until March 2008 when News 4 New York branding returned. News 4 New York also introduced Live at Five, a local lifestyle-oriented show that was followed by a 6 p.m. half-hour newscast. Live at Five was discontinued in 1991, being replaced by News 4 at 5. The format returned in 1993 and was cancelled on Friday, September 7, 2007.

News @ 6 is the flagship evening newscast of People's Television Network in the Philippines, succeeding newscast Teledyaryo. Shown every weekdays at 6:00 pm Philippine Standard Time, it is anchored by former Teledyaryo anchors Ralph Obina, Kathy San Gabriel and Atty. Marc Castrodes. The newscast is simulcast on radio thru Radyo ng Bayan stations nationwide. The program features a MMDA video traffic system used during the commercial breaks, and closing credits while a video showing Filipino Sign Language slightly shrunk away from that corner enclosed in a egg circle of the news for audience with visual difficulties for the blind and deaf persons and hearing impaired.

News Bites is a now defunct minute news break of Studio 23 developed by ABS-CBN Corporation via ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs featuring local and international news. A rundown of the things from technology, sports and entertainment is covered by the show. "Newsbite or news-bite" is a new concept and as J. Knox says in his article, it is referred to the evolution of verbal news genres in online newspapers. A home page is the entry point of an online newspaper, into a home page we can find different elements; one of these, specifically one of the central visual-verbal element is a newsbite. As it is said before, the newsbite, is considered a relatively new news genre, particularly talking about news stories. The newsbite is the result of the evolution of technological and social developments in the online newspapers field. In that sense, newsbites can be considered as a pinch of information written in a particular way. The newsbite concept is different from newsbrief, because the first one functions as an independent text. Its functionality is highlight important stories of the online newspaper, and as the author says: "Their social purpose is to present the focal point of a news story with immediacy and impact".

News Central was the flagship English primetime newscast of Studio 23. The show features a focus on major stories from around the country. News Central aired its last episode on October 1, 2010.

News Central was a primetime newscast on Sinclair television stations in the United States, mixing locally produced news with nationally produced news and an opinion segment from Sinclair's Hunt Valley, Maryland studios. News Central ended all newscasts effective March 31, 2006, which, after that date, its stations either did their newscasts entirely on their own, outsourced their newscast to a larger station in the market, or cancelled their newscasts entirely. Others, like WSMH, teamed up with non-affiliate stations in their market to either simulcast other stations' newscasts, or produce a news program in conjunction of the two stations. WYZZ and WUHF went into LMAs with other stations in their markets. News Central still produces a one-minute national news brief for Sinclair stations, called Washington Newsroom, and formerly produced their nightly The Point commentary until it ended after the November 30, 2006 edition. It also provides weather updates and forecasts during national morning news programs on select Sinclair stations that are void of local weather staff, including WTWC in Tallahassee, Florida, and WXLV-TV in Greensboro, North Carolina. The segments feature weather anchor Tony Pagnotti.

News Knight with Sir Trevor McDonald, more commonly referred to as simply News Knight was a British television panel show shown on ITV, at 22:00 on Sunday nights. Fronted by Sir Trevor McDonald and in a similar style to the BBC One programme Have I Got News for You, its format featured three comedians and McDonald satirising the week's news. Marcus Brigstocke was a permanent member of the "news team". News Knight is produced by Hat Trick Productions, the same production company as Have I Got News For You. The programme's title is a pun on McDonald's knighthood and on the BBC Two current affairs programme Newsnight. The show is therefore referred to as "News Knight with Sir Trevor McDonald" to avoid confusion.

News TV Quick Response Team is the afternoon news broadcast of GMA News TV which airs in the Philippines. It is aired weekdays at 5:30-6:00 PM.

News Watch 9, stylized as news Watch 9 is the flagship evening news program of the public Japanese broadcaster, NHK. It airs weekdays on NHK General Television and worldwide on NHK World Premium and is also available on the networks video-on-demand service. Currently, it is presented by NHK Political correspondent Okoshi Kensuke and Inoue Asahi. The program has been broadcast by the network since 1961, although it has been using its current title only from 2006. It is broadcast on weekdays, from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and features national and international news, commentary, sports and weather. Unlike most newscasts, NW9 prohibits the use of full scripts and limits the use of teleprompters.
