tmdb
DramaComedyDocumentary

Bibi and Begbo are a very strange couple. Bibi always walks around covered in band-aids and Begbo wears clothes that are definitely not his size, and also he throws up whenever he gets upset. Despite this, they seem to get by pretty well with their every day life. But what is most startling is their son Albin - who looks like he is a lot older than four years old. In this absurd drama-comedy we follow the family's life coping with being different from everybody else and as well trying to raise their son.

AFL: The 90s The Decade That Delivered

tmdb
DocumentaryHistory

It was the decade that changed the face of football as we knew it. There would be three new teams: the Adelaide Crows, Fremantle and Port Adelaide. We farewelled Fitzroy and watched others like Footscray, Richmond, Melbourne and Hawthorn battle for their existence. For the first time non-Victorian clubs would take premiership honours. West Coast won twice and Adelaide won back-to-back flags against the odds. It was a decade in which the feats of goalkicking maestros Jason Dunstall and Gary Ablett were overshadowed by the record breaker Tony Lockett.

ALMA

tmdb
DocumentaryMysteryHistory

A non-narrative short film tracking the movement of a flock of women through a megalithic landscape. They appear to be working, enacting a cryptic ceremony with a sense of calm & purposeful labor. A score weaving together their breath & hums with sounds collected from the landscape: wind, Rattlesnake grass & their hands rubbing against stone. The women's gestures come from both work & dance – evoking the strange overlap between labor & ritual. This film began as a response to the physicality of daily life as a mother & the rhythm of these acts; the relentless repetition of parenting, working, tending the world with our bodies. This repetition can easily become vacant labor, but it can also transform into a kind of meditative, even transcendent ritual, a collective communion with the landscape & each other. ALMA offers itself as a companion piece to McKenna’s photographic rubbings, a glimpse into the same world from where her art arises.
