When Kennedy announced in 1961 that he wanted to take humans to the moon within a decade, Charles M. Duke was skeptical. Almost 11 years later, however, Charles M. Duke was standing on the moon himself. He gave Neil Armstrong the go-ahead for the landing on Apollo 11. Because he contracted rubella, the Apollo 13 crew had to be changed. In 1972, he landed with Apollo 16 and looked down on Earth from the moon himself.

.TV is a found footage essay film: Voicemails left by an anonymous caller from the future guide us to the remote islands of Tuvalu, a place the global media has described as “the first country to disappear due to rising sea levels”. Surrounded by thousands of miles of open water, much of Tuvalu’s revenue comes from its country-code web extension .TV, a popular domain choice among global video-streaming and television industries. The caller describes how heat, digital screens, and distance gave him no choice but to leave his sinking home and escape into cyberspace where rising waters will never reach him.

It examines the evolution of the World of Warcraft from its infancy to its non-existent conclusion and beyond, into the world of obsession. Through the lives of several key characters, it shows the joys associated with online games, and offers a objective look at some of its inherent trappings. /afk seeks to create a dialog about gamers in an attempt to bring understanding to the online gaming phenomenon and the millions of gamers behind the World of Warcraft; the most successful MMO of all time. In doing so, one might assert that gaming can no sooner be understood than that of any other form of addiction: if it's an addiction at all.

Through the lives of four generations of women on Matsu Island, this film traces how decades of militarised rule transformed the notion of impending war into a defining identity for an entire archipelago. Moving from an era of simple fishing livelihoods to the lived experiences at the height of the Cold War and into a contemporary mother-child relationship, the film weaves together intimate interviews that speculate on reconciling with a traumatic past and on uncertainties about the future. In one thread, a mother attempts to explain the meaning of war to her young daughter, a dialogue that encapsulates central questions of the film: how do personal stories bear witness to official history, and how does a new generation move forward from a loaded identity?

/misplay was a performance made in collaboration with Andre Faupel, Ashin Mandal, Ephraim Schott, Hagen Hiller, Marina Belikova, Meike Halle and Mihail Mihaylov. It was created in conjunction with a course I taught at Bauhaus University called Collaboratively Choreographed Online Interventions through which I worked with students to stage gestural performances in a number of different multi user digital environments.

Floggers: a passing fad or a new culture that will endure? Another strategy to induce teenagers to consume excessively? These questions are unraveled in this documentary by the protagonists of the phenomenon: shopkeepers, hairdressers, teachers, and, of course, the floggers themselves.

On May 7, 2005, the Corpus Brugge 05 cultural festival opened with an installation by Spencer Tunick. Tunick’s landscape art perfectly captured the festival’s theme: the body in art and culture. 2,000 people braved the cold and rain to bring this unique art project to life in Bruges. The installation was documented through video recordings and photography.
